Video Setup and Tutorial:

How to use the safety sensor:

  • IMPORTANT: Make sure the safety sensor is plugged in BEFORE you turn on the power and calibrate the robot.

  1. Starting with the base, plug the Glambot® Safety Sensor into the robot's mini PC via a USB-A port on the back the computer and place the sensor on the front of the base of the unit using the magnet.

  2. Assemble the rest of the Glambot as normal and calibrate.

  3. Upon powering the Glambot, you should see blue lights on top of the safety sensor.

  4. Once calibrated, toggle on [Use Safety Sensor] in the advanced settings of Glambot® Motion Control software to activate.

  5. Without moving the robot, first test the safety sensor to ensure that it is activated by stepping out of the 6 foot swing radius of the sensor and then stepping back in. You should see the [Home] and [Extended] buttons greyed out. If a path is selected, the [Start] button will also be unavailable and will display [CLEAR OBSTACLE].

How the safety sensor works:

If an object is detected in the swing radius of the robot, the start button will be greyed out until the obstacle is removed. If someone enters the swing radius (6 feet) while the robot is in motion, the robot will stop within 0.5 seconds (soft stop). A warning will appear on the operators screen prompting the operator to clear the obstacle to continue operations. Once the obstacle is cleared, operation can continue immediately.
