Why Lighting Is Critical for Glambot Filming
Slow-motion captures reveal details the human eye would normally miss: subtle fabric movement, hair flicks, eye blinks, and micro-expressions. At high frame rates and ultra-slow motion, every flicker, shadow, and reflection is magnified. That's why lighting in Glambot videography must be precise, powerful, and flattering. If lighting is uneven or insufficient, the camera may pick up unwanted shadows, flickering from certain light sources (like fluorescents), or even reveal imperfections that would otherwise be invisible in real-time footage. High frame rates require very bright lighting, as the shutter speed is extremely fast. This means less light hits the sensor, and without strong, consistent illumination, footage can appear underexposed or noisy.
Recommended Lights: NanLite Compac 200b and Tripod Stands
For best results, use at least two Nanlite Compac 200Bs:
Positioning: Place one light on each side of the Glambot®, about 45° in front of the subject on both sides.
Height: Set each light slightly above eye level, angled downward to flatter the face.
Distance: Keep at least 6 feet between the lights and the Glambot® to allow safe sweeping motion without collision.
Color Temp: Match both lights to the same color temperature—typically 5000–5600K for a clean, daylight-balanced look.
This setup provides even, soft illumination that's ideal for capturing elegant, slow-motion shots at live events or weddings.
